Graphic Overlay

A graphic overlay is the top layer of a user interface assembly that is often printed on a transparent or translucent film material like polycarbonate (Lexan) or polyester.  It is both ornamental and practical, showing text, symbols, and branding while also providing protection.  When combined with membrane switches, it creates a visible, tactile surface through which the user interacts with the device.
